چکیده

Abstract Background Infections caused by carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) have continually grown as a global public health threat, with significant mortality rates observed across the world. We examined clinical data from patients CPE infections and their outcomes, concentrating on Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates. analysed information, performed antimicrobial susceptibility testing, conducted molecular epidemiological genomic analyses isolates to identify patterns in data. Methods The characteristics of 33 hospitalised confirmed CPE, including patient-related factors associated development infections, were examined. Patients divided according whether they “colonised” or “infected” timing frequency rectal swab collections, which 45 swabs randomly selected for analysis. purified, tests performed. Whole genome sequences these determined compute bacterial multilocus sequence types plasmid replicon types, infer phylogenetic relationships, resistance virulence genes. Results Altogether, 88.9% (40/45) K. . most abundant carbapenemase gene family (33/39) was bla OXA-232 , NDM-1 additionally identified 19 them. All carrying either resistant meropenem, but only 40 susceptible colistin. Among CPE-infected ( n = 18) CPE-colonised who developed during study 3), all one received standard colistin-based combination therapy. Phylogenetic analysis revealed polyclonal spread (CPKP) within patient population, following two major subclades identified: ST16 15) ST231 14). Investigating the Resistance of Klebsiella Pneumoniae Clinical Isolates Producing Carbapenemase and ESBL Enzymes to Colistin and Fosfomycin Antibiotics

Introduction: A Klebsiella pneumoniae bacterium, which is the most important species of the Klebsiella genus, mainly causes hospital infections. Moreover, it has a high resistance to most of the available antibiotics, which has caused concern among doctors all over the world. Therefore, the amount of antibiotic resistance and the effect of these antibiotics on Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates pr...

Prevalence and Factors Associated with Multidrug-resistant Tuberculosis at Siriraj Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand.

The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence and factors associated with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) at Siriraj Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand. We conducted a retrospective unmatched case-control study of patients clinically diagnosed and microbiologically confirmed to have tuber- culosis (TB) at Siriraj Hospital from 2010 to 2012. Patient characteristics, clinical dat...

Carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae

The continuing emergence of infections due to multidrug resistant bacteria is a serious public health problem. Klebsiella pneumoniae, which commonly acquires resistance encoded on mobile genetic elements, including ones that encode carbapenemases, is a prime example. K. pneumoniae carrying such genetic material, including both blaKPC and genes encoding metallo-β-lactamases, have spread globally...

Genome Sequences of Multidrug-Resistant, Colistin-Susceptible and -Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae Clinical Isolates from Pakistan

The emergence and spread of colistin resistance among multidrug-resistant (MDR) Klebsiella pneumoniae represent a critical threat to global health. Here, we report the complete genome sequences of 10 MDR, colistin-susceptible and -resistant K. pneumoniae clinical isolates obtained in Pakistan between 2010 and 2013.
